If you’re wanting an upscale bar that you can also smoke a cigar, from the Central West end of St. Louis, then Brennan’s is the place. Please note, at the time of my visit, they were still renovating the inside cigar smoking area, so I had to smoke outside, with the tables in front of the location.
Brennan’s is located at 316 N Euclid Ave, St. Louis, Missouri. This place is well decorated, a bit modern and vintage, and their booze done in a way that reminds me of the huge draft beer places like the Flying Saucer, in Nashville, Tennessee. They’ve lined up the liquor just like draft beer.
I chose a Pineapple Daiquiri, which was decent, but a bit pricey for a couple ingredients. It did look nice in the glass.
As for their cigar selection, they have a small selection, but they have a cigar menu that you can see all of their selection. When I go to a cigar bar, I look for a cigar that I haven’t smoked before, or for a cigar that may be created by that business. Honestly, I was disappointed to only find that of the whole list, only 2 cigars (of the same brand), were ones that I’ve never had. That says how small the list is.
I chose their Micro Tobacconist Natural. This was a nice hour cigar and a medium to full body flavor. It’s fairly earthy and the construction was decent enough that I was able to build a good ash.
I’m more than certain I’d go back to Brennan’s again to try one of their drink selections, and maybe check out their indoor smoking area, when it opens, which at the time of this article, I was told they’d be opening it by October 2021.
