Cigar lady Nile here. This is my first post here on FuseSTL and I’ll be writing on some of the cigar bar life experiences I have around the St. Louis area. For those who enjoy cigars, it’s often in your home or backyard or garage, or perhaps outside at a regular bar. Hopefully this Cigar Bar Review series will encourage you to come out and meet other cigar smokers, and experience the enjoyable environment within a local cigar bar.
Cigar Bar Review: The Hill Cigar Co.
The Hill Cigar Co. is located not far from downtown St. Louis, in “The Hill” neighborhood, at 5360 Southwest Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139.
When I had gone, they were havingĀ Drew Estate cigar event, and had a live band. It was pretty packed, and seems to be quite a popular place. Staff was pleasant, welcoming, and knowledgeable about cigars too.
The humidor itself, is quite large, but not a lot of space to get through each area, and especially more so, when crowded. I was really impressed with the selection they had. Of course, there was an event going on, specifically showcasing the Drew Estate Cigar line.
Below are some pictures of the humidor area:
The back area lounge is pretty spacious, and looks comfortable too!
As for cigars, I picked up a few sticks – ones that I hadn’t smoked before. However, one type of cigar in particular, is something unique from St. Louis. I picked up the Sadese Ayishah cigar, by RS Hubbard Tobacco. This company is St. Louis locally owned, so grabbing up this beauty was a must. I will say that I did get to smoke it at home, and it was a smooth draw, full bodied flavor, and well done on the make of the cigar.
