Epic Pizza, located at 1711 S 9th St, St. Louis, MO, touts themselves as being the best Pizza in St. Louis. For a lot of people who love pizza, that seems like a huge boast, so I went to visit and see what’s going on.
The inside of the place isn’t elaborately decorated, but a lot of the photos on the brick walls are St. Louis themed, or even Cardinals baseball themed.
This historic Soulard located pizza and subs restaurant gives a taste of New York style pizza. For me, I’m not originally from the St. Louis area, so my expectation had been that this place might be a St. Louis cracker thin crust, but it wasn’t. I didn’t really need a whole pizza, as the one slice I had, was pretty big. I also had some garlic knots. Not gonna lie, I even dipped the pizza in the buttered garlic sauce, as I love good buttered garlic sauce. The pizza is seasoned and baked perfect, and it wasn’t overly greasy, which is good, because I don’t like having to use a napkin to dab off the excess grease.
Overall, Epic Pizza has some decent pizza, for the area. I will say that if you are wanting pizza and beer, just order pizza at Epic, and then venture next door over to ITap to enjoy some good draft beer.
